Housing Justice 4 All Rally
I was invited by Housing Justice for All (HJ4A), a statewide coalition of over 80 groups representing tenants and homeless New Yorkers, to document their rally in front of the office of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). At the time, REBNY had spent millions opposing Good Cause Eviction in New York State, and the action was intended to send a clear message that people power will always trump establishment power. Members of the HJ4A coalition, along with New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, were later arrested for blocking the entrance to the REBNY office. As the official photographer of the rally, I was honored to document this act of bravery, and I hope my photos can speak for themselves.
