Jake Ephros for Jersey City City Council Photoshoots

Jake Ephros, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, is gearing up to run for Jersey City City Council, and has asked me to be his official photographer. To prepare for the launch of his campaign, we had a 2 hours long photo session in the neighborhood which he is running to represent. I wanted to portray Jake as who he really is - a grassroots political organizer who is connected to his neighborhood, and who can represent his community free of corporate and establishment influence.

In addition to a session in the Heights, I also took Jake to Solas Studio in Manhattan, where we captured some wonderful studio portraits for his campaign. We aimed for “universal” photos that could be used in pamphlets, flyers, and posters. Additionally, I wanted to use this session to document Jake Ephros as a key figure in the Jersey City political landscape for years to come.
